The Beautify Texas Awards recognize efforts made by individuals and organizations to enhance their communities and protect Texas’ environment. These awards honor extraordinary volunteers, professionals, youth, educators, businesses, local/civic governments, organizations, and specific projects and programs. They are organized into two main categories, Individual Awards and Organizational Awards.

Dallas Blooms, the largest floral festival in the Southwest, returns February 24-April 8, with 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs, thousands of azaleas, hundreds of Japanese cherry trees and the all NEW living backdrops of sprawling plant walls. These six installations, placed throughout the garden, will feature over 10,000 plants covering 565 square feet.

Ned and Genie Fritz Texas Buckeye Trail Restoration: Texas Buckeye Walks - Dallas (March 16-April 13)

Take a spring amble on the newly restored Ned and Genie Fritz Texas Buckeye Trail. A highlight of early spring is the blooming season for Texas buckeyes (Aesculus glabra var. arguta) with their conical clusters of fragrant yellow-ivory flowers. The slight understory tree with a slender trunk and branches is a sub-species of the more famous Ohio buckeye, being more compact with greater heat tolerance, though it often sheds leaves in summer.

Leader: Steve Smith of Trinity Coalition – For hearty hikers only. A apx. 5-mile trail-in-the-making, taking the in-progress Trinity-White Rock Trail to the river-creek confluence, and then onto the in-progress Bois d’Arc Trail to the Bonton Pond and levee.

Susana Cruz talks about Cedar Hill State Park. She will discuss the various activities (camping, hiking etc.) visitors can do in the park as well as discuss the flora and fauna and some of the challenges the park faces.

Potluck Dinners are back! Bring your favorite appetizer, side, salad or dessert to share, and don't forget to bring your own non-alcoholic drink of choice. (Please consider bringing vegetarian options.) The club will provide the main dish. We encourage guests to arrive early, between 6:35-6:40 PM, to partake of food prior to the start of the meeting.

The Cowtown Great American Cleanup is Fort Worth's largest annual litter cleanup and beautification event of the year. In 2023, Cowtown Cleanup volunteers removed over 174,000 pounds of trash from our city!

Join Keep Fort Worth Beautiful for the 39th Annual Cowtown Great American Cleanup in 2024 and work with thousands of volunteers across the city. Schools, churches, businesses, families and individuals are all welcome to join!

Learn about tne North Texas ecotone with Wild DFW author Amy Martin. How do tilted layers of bedrock shape our three ecoregions, foster a plethora of soil types, and lead to our plant and wildlife diversity? From the ancient inland ocean and melting ice caps that forged North Texas, to the goliath creeks and many forks of the Trinity, get clear on how water shapes our local landscape.

Afterward, enjoy a Spring Equinox walk the Blackjack Trail, recreating the hike from LLELA's chapter in Wild DFW. Amy, Scott Keister, and Vinny Merrill will point out the creek where ebonywing damselflies can be found, places where the Blackland Prairie and Eastern Cross Timbers intersect, and the borrow pit for the Lewisville Lake dam dirt as an example of go-back land gone bad.
