The Solar Car Challenge originated in 1993, and has been recognized by "Technology & Learning" as one of the top ten education programs in the country. The program teaches high school students how to build roadworthy solar cars, and then provides a safe environment to race. NTREG members will participate in various aspects of the race and related activities.

Asian Film Festival of Dallas celebrates and supports emerging and established Asian and Asian-American filmmakers and shares the rich diversity of Asian culture through the medium of cinema.

The best chefs, restaurants, artists, sports teams, kids' activities and bands in North Texas are gearing up for the biggest Taste yet. This three-day culinary celebration includes plenty of taste bud-pleasing food prepared by area restaurants and chefs; wine tastings; live entertainment; games and children's activities; and a wide array of arts and crafts.
It's fun for the whole family in historic Fair Park, 1200 S. 2nd Ave. Friday 4 p.m.-12 Midnight; Saturday 11 a.m.-12 Midnight; Sunday 12 Noon-6 p.m. Information: tasteofdallas.org.
Getting here by DART’s Green Line
Fair Park visitors can ride the new DART Rail Green Line to two stations -
Fair Park Station, located on Parry Avenue at the entrance to the fairgrounds, and MLK, Jr. Station, located south of R.B. Cullum Blvd. and convenient to the MLK fairground entrance (Gate 6) and the Cotton Bowl Stadium. See the Green Line schedule

Whether you’re coming from north, south, east, west or downtown Dallas, several DART bus routes lead to the gates of Fair Park. Many more lead to the nearby J.B. Jackson, Jr. Transit Center. Although you can see all of your bus route options at dart.org.

On every day but Sunday, the TRE offers commuter rail service between Fort Worth and Dallas. Its regular stops include DFW Airport, the Dallas Medical Center, Victory Station and Union Station.

Canoe Fest: Enjoy a bit of canoeing/kayaking on your own on the quiet waters around Greer Island. Canoes/kayaks, paddles and lifejackets provided. Children in canoes must be 5 years or older and accompanied by a parent or guardian. Kayakers must be at least 14 years old and accompanied by their guardian, otherwise at least 18 years old. Parents must sign a liability waiver for minor children.
No registration needed. First come-first served.
Greer Island gate will open at 11:30 a.m. Meet at Greer Island. $5 (with paid admission)/MEMBERS $3.

Rising Star Recital: Claire Luan Wells, 11 year-old Grand Prize Winner of the Collin County Concerto Competition, with pianist Christina Kim, perform Barber's Concerto for Violin.
Feature Performance: Gary Levinson, Senior Principal Associate Concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony, and friends present Beethoven's Septet, Op. 20 for winds and strings. Pianist Baya Kakouberi will perform selected works of Beethoven.

Rising Star Recital: Clarinetist Steven Tsai, an award winner in the Juanita Miller Concerto Competition and the Dallas Symphonic Festival, performs music of Mozart and von Weber with pianist Julie Chung.
