Our weekly Green Roundup will let you know about deals going on at businesses in our green business directory (check it out if you haven't already). We'll also be detailing volunteer opportunities with local non-profits. It's one more way we're hoping to support and shine a light on the work of sustainable entrpreneurs and green businesses in the DFW area. This week -

The Whole Planet Foundation and BlueAvocado have partnered to launch a "Make Change. Not Waste." campaign and app that rewards Whole Foods Shoppers with coupons for green lifestyle actions. The "Make Change. Not Waste." mobile iPhone app will allow users to get access to badges and coupons from a catalog of 45 green lifestyle behaviors. These can be using a reusable bag, recycling, or biking to work. For more info visit their blog - http://www.wholeplanetfoundation.org/blog/

In other news, the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, which we've featured numerous times here, is ringing in the spring this weekend (the weekend of the 18th of May) with Prarie Day. It's a free come and go event. The organization is also offering discounts on BRIT memberships. Activities for the event include making seed balls, lectures on invasive plants and local praries, and native prarie history and lectures. For more details check the event listing right here on Green Source DFW.

Finally, Texas Sierra Club has asked for volunteers to phone bank to support the first ever carbon emmision standard for powerplants. If you're interested email Flavia at flavia.delafuente@sierraclub.org
